UP THE DALES LAMPING

[TOMO 26,742]

had a look out last night on my permision, up the dales. Rew of this site came with me with his dog fly.

 

we took it slowly and mostly had alternate runs, and gave the dogs plenty of rest and drinks in the streams. the weather was mild, but the moon was out , and we had a little breeze, so not the ideal night.

 

the dogs acounted them selvs well though,missing very few with a total of 63.

 

Tara cought 37 and Rews dog Fly cought 26 . the only thing rews bitch lacks is experiance, and of course this will come, she has a deacant strike and is right up at them type with good speed, her retrive is good, not perfect , all in all a very tidy young bitch.

 

although both dogs were tired, im quite sure with picked bunnys , tara would have done the 40, and fly the 30. but our aim wasn't a huge bag, just getting the dogs fit and catching a few.

 

as i said we took it slow, and after 3 hours we had done a loop back to the car, were we droped of our catch at this piont, it was 25, - 17. had a drink at the car , then had another hour catching the rest.

 

all in all a good night , with a keen young fella , and an up and comming dog rew will put some picks up when he gets up. TOMO

a good nights sport you two had in bad conditions 63 rabbits is a great haul by anyones standards well done to you both and a pat on the back for TOMO for giving young rew some good experiance nice one lads

firstly a big thankyou to tomo for his time ,taking me on his permision and for giving young fly and myself some good experiance.i was very pleased with fly she ran well and done me proud.it was great to watch tara doing the business ,shes some dog deffinatley a contender for the title imo.thanks again tomo your a star.here some pics of the haul my shoulders are killing but well worth it could anyone lighten the pics up ,would be greatfull.all the best

Well done Tomo ,just the thing for a young dog ,wish we had those opportunities here,Magwitch and me get most of ours in orchards,not too clever for running dogs,ATB, Inan.

Seems a couple of the boys are getting the dogs ready for the competition hope they dont peak to soon. from what I've seen so far and the numbers accounted for its gonnna be a high standard competition keep up the good work lads.
