richie 1
jazz, i see in your avatar that you have a feret in your hand, i take it you go ferreting ? why dont you ask if you can have permission with ferreting first, then gain their trust so they can see that you are respectfull & trustworthy then later ask if you can bring the rifle to help you control the pests ? dont sell the rifle, just keep trying, weve all been through it. good luck with your search.. rich Quote Link to post
BEARINATOR 2,872
It's hard to get permission at first with a airgun but as rich said ferreting is a ideal way to get the farmers trust and once you have one he'll be able to get you more Quote Link to post
gilly-93 31
Well said Richie Quote Link to post
Fidgety 8
Good call, start with the ferret, it will all follow on from there. Got to point out though, if youre going for permission, you got to promise to be there one/twice a month at least with farmers, and make sure you are there too! I've spoken to quite a few who have people turn up all keen for about a month, then tail off and just turn up when they think there is more quary about. Very important to maintain your permission, or else you find someone else there who is a bit more reliable. Quote Link to post
P.Carter 0
Looks like your in the mirror opposite situation as I am mate, I have access to a nice bit of land, but waiting for pay day 'til I can sort a gun out. All the best though, don't give up mate, took me a while to get it, but the permission came through eventually. I thought it would take longer though, that's why I started looking a while before I would of had the money to Falk out for a gun. If I got permission 2 weeks later as I got payed it would of been ideal, but I'm not one to complain. Just a b*****d having all that land to do as I please on, and actually do summot' properly and legally for once in my life and not having the tools to do it with. Quote Link to post
rabbit_killer 2
keep at it mate you will get there in the end!!! Quote Link to post

woodchip 2
jazz where not that far away from pheasant season is there any farm near you that have a shoot? if so get yourself down there and get your name down for some beatting , its a good way to meet people and never know who you may bump into and you get a bit of cash this is how ive landed some of my permission in the past but use the ferreting angle you need to gain the trust of any land owner and invest in some insurance ,this shows your responsible . look in one of the air gun mags or try B A S A . JUST STICK AT IT YOUR GET THERE Edited August 20, 2008 by woodchip Quote Link to post
