let a pup be a pup thats what i say . :thumbs: , about 6/7 months , get them looking about , but nothing serious untill 12 months plus , you will only possibly end up spoiling the dog , let it mature .

cheers mate i took my pup out with me when she was about 7months and was just wondering is it a good thing to start your dogs early.shes 15months now and and is comming on really well

With slightly larger/medium dogs (ie ~24") I would say about a year (depending on maturity)....Deerh crosses a lot longer.......But ferreting is always a good way of introducing a youngish dog (6 months) to the scene. Don't expect miracles in the 1st 2 years :victory:
