Flying Ferrets 0
only 100% polecat I know is actually very kind to people but afraid of anything unknown. I think she would die of fear if you took her out hunting. Others I've heard of has been very very hard to handle, biting HARD and being unsecure around people. Maybe polecats can be good workers, what do I know, but I'm pretty sure that often a tame ferret will be way better because its not afraid of everything and if raised well they are easy to handle. jonesr116 1
i think it may be a cross then because hes easily handled and it doesnt seem scared or aprehensive its really inquisitive to be honest. Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
Many people refer to a polecat coloured ferret as a polecat. Is it a polecat or just a polecat marked/coloured ferret? Edited August 19, 2008 by MikeTheDog Quote Link to post

Guest ferretlad
How will your Terrier's react to the Ferret? have they seen one before, as regard's to flushing rat's the best person to ask that would be the person that is offering you the ferret, find out from them what they have done with the Ferret work wise. sikastag_1 689
wont be a 100% polecat will be a wattered down 1 like most of us have mate, good workers, it will bite if it wasnt handled from a young age, youve just said its tame etc so i would go for it, you dont know if it will be good on rats until you try it, i dont think the poley will bother your terriers i would be worried about your terriers bothering the poley if theyve never seen 1. You have been misinformed.I have kept poleys for years and the hardest bite i ever had was from a f****n albino fert.I have never kept or worked anything but poleys.my poleys are not scared of anything they are a bit eratic as kits but i reckon thats just the large space i have always given them. There a dream to work.Im not knocking anyone who keeps ferts btw. Each to their own I apologise i read the first post then glanced down the rest.I see were back on the old 100%poley rubbish Edited August 19, 2008 by scothunter Quote Link to post

I'm talking about wild polecats, not the colour. And good for you if your polecats are nice working ferrets but I'm pretty sure not all polecats are! Quote Link to post
