the basics comes easy if you get a nice steady young dog.i started with ferrets

little sets giving the dog a go with them at 6 month old i may be wrong but worked for me.and as early as the dog had its good walking legs i used to get out and around the feilds lamping ut not slipping just gatting them used to the beam etc.practising walking upon sitters .walking the dog around farm land getting it used to livestock.

but i found a little ferriting solved that as it gets the dogs attention on the rabbit.

i dont no if others start young dogs with ferret but i found that the best part of the training.and the dog loves it.if you dont want to start from scratch theirs looking at an older dog but to be honest you dont no what your getting unless from a honest person or somone who is in the game you no and isnt just in it for the money.also i found buying the countrymans weekly a good read and a few helpfull tips :victory:

na mate never seen them, a mate had her for 2 wks then got bored, i said id look after her till he rehomed her an ended up keepin her,

belive you should keep a dog no matter once youv got it

i got her at 8 half weeks

thats my thinking you get more out in the end if you keep them for their good and bad you both learn each others bad pionts i found.well if it were a straight collie grey id defenitly put a greyhound back.now if its got saluki as well iam unsure.ive allready a few wanting a stud of him but im still hoping for a litter myself before i no he is up to the job bud :victory:

Thats a cracking bitch big e, gilly try running dog addiction, any of frank sheardowns or brian plummers books. Merle was the first lurcher book i read and i've been reading dog books etc, ever since or join a lurcher club if there's one near you, as there members will help you out and take you out to show you the ropes. I'll have a look through my book collection and if there's any lurcher books i'll give you them

Get the Darcy books "EXTREME LURCHERS" "RUNNING DOG ADDICTION" They wont show you how to build a kennel or other twaddle or tell bullshit like Plummer but they will show you what you can do with a lurcher.
