Rabbithunter 456
working in a house today, well supposed to be. We got all sockets & switches stripped off and i headed into the attic to see if there was any copper. I seen the old header tank, and thought it may be worth something ££££ so i go over with all intentions of pulling it out. When i noticed the material it was made from. I came down immediatly and asked the other lads what they thought. I was told it was only plastic, and i requested the lad to look again. Finally i got them to agree it could be asbestos based cement. So we called the job off as we refused to use the loft. Now i was just wondering if anyone else has come across any old header tanks made from azzie, as i can not see any reason why they would of used azzie for a header tank? Malt 379
They used to use it for all sorts, it was billed as a 'wonder' building materiel.
Rabbithunter 456
i know it was used in all sorts mate, just never realised they would use it in a tank. "wonder" material.... it was cheap & easy to work with..... well look at what its costing now, peoples lifes seen it in toilet seats, cistern's, but never a tank ?
