Tungsten 0
I recently purchased a CZ 452 Style with Parker Hale Mod as a cheap and cheerful .22 rimfire rabbiting rifle. Did a bit of research first and CZ rimfire was in the top 5 of Sporting Shooter rifles.I was not expecting competition type grouping, but maybe a 1†at 50 -60 yards, enough to give a clean kill. However when I took the rifle out to try for the first time (supposed to have been zeroed at the shop at 100yds)I set up a target at 65yds aimed a little low and bang not even on the A4 sheet size target. Me and a friend then spent 25 rounds each of Winchester Subsonics trying to get a consistent 3 shot grouping, they were all over the place. At first we thought it was the scope, so we change it from the Tasco to a Leupold another 25 Winchesters were flying wild, no consistency at all, the rifle was well supported front and back. We tried 30 Laupa target rounds thinking it might be duff ammo, but there was no improvement. Using my friends Sako we were able to get extremely tight groupings whatever ammo we used. So after running out of ideas we packed up after 4 hours. My friend even looked down the bore with a bore scope to see if there was anything obvious throwing the shot out, but nothing. Any ideas???? how you getting on with the cz style,i have the same gun and it shoots spot on,i have the brooks kit on mine as the trigger out the box can be silly heavy, and cause you to struggle to get good groups, especially if your used to air rifle triggers,i got my brooks kit direct from usa, took a week and about £8.00 allin, and it is a doddle to fit, just be sure to do the drop test, and you dont allways need to put the pins in,mine is spot on with just a spring change, but went off on the drop test with a pin,on the same spring, just mess about,it will improve your shooting big style, and you soon be doing this,atb,ianhttp://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/ianace32/PICT0001.jpg Back at the shop and with the gunsmith for investigation ??? will let you know. Tungsten 0
My CZ Style is still with the shop, so I have a feeling this was not the easy fix the shop was anticipating. I have been giving the problem some thought as too what I should reasonably expect from the gun out of the box; as CZ as far as I can see do not make any claims of MOA at x yards, so I need a few points of reference in case of dispute when I eventually collect the rifle. clivej 0
I got my CZ style in May of this year and it now shoots good 1/2"+ @50m 5 shot groups. BUT when I first got it I got 500 remington subs. What a bad choice. Groups of 5"-6" so disapointong. It was only when I changed ammo that my groups shrank to under 1". I fitted the brooks fit used the fatest tube and #2 light spring. Groups down to 3/4". I then saw that the barrel was touching the stock at the forendso I placed a small piece of plastic under the barrel just behind the front lug, this rised the barrel off the stock and I could get a folded paper all the way down between the barrel and the stock. 1/2" groups @50m were to follow with that change. I have tried all the different ammo though the Style but it just likes the Eley subs and Lapua standard club subs. Any others just don't group as well as those rounds. It's taking the heads off rabbits @100m so thats all I could ask of it. Great little gun. I have a CZ varmint in 223 on the way. Edited August 26, 2008 by clivej Quote Link to post
Tungsten 0
Would seem from the gunsmiths report that the screw thread has not been done correctly!!! Quote Link to post
jamie g 17
Would seem from the gunsmiths report that the screw thread has not been done correctly!!! so it would have been clipping the silencer then if the thread was inline properly ? but didnt you shoot it with the mod off ? it wouldnt have mattered then ? if you did and it was doing it still then whoever done the screwcut in the 1st place wants a kicking Quote Link to post
Tungsten 0
Well after a long communications with the supplier, they tell me Egdar Brtohers are going to exchange the rilfe for a new one. So it would seem the original was screw cut wrong. Quote Link to post
