i hav 2new kits both jills one is much smaller and younger than the otherand the biger one is biteing the ears of the small one. i think shes gonna eat them if it carrys on and no1 takes her im just gonna chap her!!! :big_boss: any ideas people so the ferret may live??

ear biting & sucking is common in kits, try to discourage it if you can , i wouldnt seperate unless the ear actually starts to go really nasty

seperation is not an option and her ears are getting red and soar looking

 

Its very possibly comfort behaviour , the kits could possibly have been taken from there mom a wee bit to soon

an update on whats happned!!!

i have got rid of the offending ferret but one of the small jills ears is now mangled!! it is stuck to the side of her head, ive been trying to wash it and get it unstuck but its scabed right up and is fuseing itself to the ferrets head!!!

is it ok to leave it or should i do something please help here as i want to help the little thing <_<

Just keep the wound clean imo. Some time back a jill of mine had a nasty sore neck from the mating ritual and I just happened to have some 'Comfrey & Calendula Balm' in the dog's first aid kit and applied to her wound. The other ferrets thought it was really tasty and licked her neck bald.. :tongue2: as a coot!...The young hob she had been scrapping with came off with a sore ear and the same balm was applied, like I said, the ferrets thought it very tasty and ate most of his ear also... :sick: :o ...never been a problem to him though.

sound mike thanks!! the ear is whole and still attached! the back of the ear was badly damaged and it has stuck to her head and is becomeing part of her head :blink: she dont sem to mind but she was a good lookin jill and now shes a freak lol

Some of the bullx boys would give their eye teeth for a dog to look like that! :tongue2:

Update : the ferret is now fine! the ear repaird itself all i done was wash it a few times.........dunno how it jus all of a sudden was fine but **** it eh just as well! anyway heres a pic of her............
