steve noon 0
hello all, just out with the dogs for a quick walk and came across a fella who was out digging.he was after digging 2 cubs but there was no vixen at home and he was actually proud that he was after killing these cubs.before replies this is not sheep country.this moron is like most summer hunters that cannot be found during the winter.he actually thought that his dogs are now proven workers after digging a load of cubs this summer.seems to be an increasing problem around here i.e. lads out lamping and digging all year round.why dont they just give our quarry a chance to breed in peace during the summer months. Guest ozzy
hello all, just out with the dogs for a quick walk and came across a fella who was out digging.he was after digging 2 cubs but there was no vixen at home and he was actually proud that he was after killing these cubs.before replies this is not sheep country.this moron is like most summer hunters that cannot be found during the winter.he actually thought that his dogs are now proven workers after digging a load of cubs this summer.seems to be an increasing problem around here i.e. lads out lamping and digging all year round.why dont they just give our quarry a chance to breed in peace during the summer months no test of any man or dog we all know who is diggen and hunting doing nothing but demage to crops and livestock running all over the place but most of all no respect for thier game if they worked there dogs hard in winter they be glad of the rest in the summer Quote Link to post
Guest Dunna
We had the same problem with lads hunting down our way for the last 2-3 summers. Not only do they dig cubs and brag about it, they also leave the earths in an awful state with holes dug everywhere. I was brought up to respect the countryside and never went digging during the summer. If only these cowboys were brought up the same way. Quote Link to post
Guest fell terrier
if we dont go when keepers and farmers call then there will be no digging in winter for us lads and somebody else will do them permision is hard to come by and it has taken years to get it for some.ill still put some posts up come winter as we are out full time then boys come rain hail or shine best of luck to all for the forth coming season Quote Link to post

Bryan 1,362
yeah always start tipping away after mid August, can be patchy to find stuff at home. but young dogs need a start and by the time October comes around dogs and men should be fully fit and ready. Don't need to be killing anything yet. Bryan Quote Link to post

neil cooney 10,416
There's a big difference between call outs and sport. Quote Link to post
Guest SPIFF
Mostly waiting for the barley ,grass etc getting cut to widen the spots we do thats alls limiting most now.Farmers take on a different personality when your tramping through their fields in summer. Quote Link to post
Yokel Matt 918
Do we know the circumstances of the dig? I take it you spoke to him which is how you know he is so proud of his 'proven' dogs... i wonder if you were as brave to his face as you are on your keyboard Quote Link to post
