Looking For My Next Gun

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm basiclly a new commer to the hunting zone, but i have got alot of knowledge and small experience.

So my current gun is a .22 Cal Meteor Mk6 (BSA) i love it, but it hasn't got enough FPS for me.

Now i have had a real good think about getting myself a XL Tactical (BSA) but then the price is like £300-£400 so i assume i can get better or equal guns for a lower or nearer price than that, so under £200 would be ideal otherwise under £350 after some saving.

I have been on a few hunting trips with my dad and my uncle but now the new owners have denied us permission to shoot so that's another problem i will have to sort out aswell.

I mainly shoot birds but i have shot rabbits and other small mammals i hope to keep on the rabbit track as there more of a challenge than birds.

So thanks for reading and with any luck you guys can help me out.

That’s what i thought mate

but not going by the pms i got saying that they can buy new for the same price.

so i would like to know where you can get a New Tactical+ scope + 1 piece mount

and gunbag + a 2 tins of ammo for £220 posted ???????

If i had the money at the moment i'm sure i would take you up on that offer, but at the moment am just getting ideas, I plan to get my new gun during early winter then go winter hunting, i hear it's hard but rewarding.

Hi if you want a good spring powered gun I would go for either one of the BSA range, the super sport is good yet cheap, or one of the Weihrauch range. Some of them are quite heavy but you get used to the weight and they are all very accurate and have good triggers. Or you could go for one of the air arms springers. The TX 200 is very accurate but even the carbine version is over 8lbs so its heavy. Or the pro sport which is supposed to be very good and looks great and is slightly lighter if I remember correctly. All good guns I'd go for whatever feels best for you some are more expensive or more accurate but all are good enough for hunting. I don't use pre charged rifles so I can't comment on them. As for calibers read all the threads on this forum for the good and bad points of each. Both will do the job in the right hands. Hope that helps.
