WHAT A TALENT!

what a talent, keep an eye out for him :boxing::boxing:

very good hand speed, nice foot work BUT, whers his guard? I know hes only a kid and before anyone has a go at me look at it this way. something i have seen happen many time before is the gym will work so hard on the kids hands and this goes on for many months, the kid gets a false scence of how good he is, so do the instructors and then he meets an oponet with a good solid guard who can ride out the flurry of punches but then BAM, his opponent pops one over the top through his lack of guard.

then you have a broken spirit of kid who has been told hes special for so long.

ok, now you can tell me im wronge to say this of a young kid :whistling:

PS, still nice work though

he has nice hand speed but hes not as fast as you think the man on the pads is moving the pads into him as he punches which makes it looks faster and i agree with mole catcher his gaurd is all over the shop still looks a nice prospect though

there is other clips of him sparring, i think he's a bit older in those... regardless of his low guard i dont think there is many kids that age that can move and punch like that... infact i dont think there is many adults that can move and punch like that... time will tell :)

The kid looks pretty handy but good bag work and tippy tappy sparring at this tender age doesnt garantee a big futre in the sport...its a tough game when it starts for real, better judging the kid when he starts getting hit for real ;)

Seen it so many times over the years....kids who have developed their skills and technique in front of a mirror, then progressed to pads and bag and still looked great....then progressed to light sparring and still looked great.....only to see it all come apart when under any sort of pressure....the first thing to go out the window when under pressure is technique......these kids have the same chance as any other of that age,but all the pretty moves in the world wont help if everything else is not right.......for importance id put dedication,a solid guard and correct punch delivery in front of all those pretty moves at that age.

How do you no he can punch though ?

With a bit of training there will be plenty of young lads who could replicate that , Its just a dance routine at the end of the day .

Gnasher, what you say is VERY true mate...my coach dosnt say "Right then, warm up with five minutes shadow boxing"...he hates the term shadow boxing...He says "Right, fight an imaginary opponent, i want head movement, and punches with 100% power behind them...KO the guy!"...

You can look good on the bag/pads, or in front of the mirror (which our coach dont let us use at all!) but unless you spar, and spar hard, you wont ever get used to Combat,..imo.

Jay..

PS...not saying im right, just what ive exseperianced!

Couldnt agree more mate......as an example, back years ago i had the dubious pleasure of being a punch bag for a very young frank bruno when terry lawless had his gym above the thatched house pub in east london, before frank was a big name......now i was never no sugar ray leonard but even i could make him look terrible.....ok we know he never did exactly have silky skills and elegant footwork.....but even back then if you was to watch him in front of the mirrors or on the pads you would have thought he was a more powerful version of muhammed ali !!!.....just go,s to show whats pleasing to the eye is often very misleading....that said, when he hit you....you knew youd been hit :D
