The ferrets are round the back of the house, obviously it wont be till november 5th but he needs time to organise it cheers Dean Quote Link to post

Guest ferretlad
You could alway's put them in a carrybox and keep them inside your house untill after the display if you not got too many, my Ferret's never seem to be bothered about loud bang's. Or give your Ferret's a couple of them free pint's before hand and they will sleep through owt then Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
I have never had a problem in the past with the ferrets when fireworks have been going off, the dogs were a different matter though Quote Link to post
ianrob 2
Mine are very wary of loud noises, bolting for cover. I have a guy two doors down who makes wrought iron gates "for a hobby", he's known locally as Robert the b4stard, his wife is called Capes after Geoff Capes the big guy with the beard , yep you get the picture. Anyway RTB often gets loads of metal delivered and my ferrets hate it. The earlier suggestion of keeping them in the house might be a good idea, as just 'cause you don't see them, doesn't mean they're not terrified. It probably depends on the strain you have. Previous ferrets I've had were pussycats, very calm and generally soft. These two albino hobs came from a gamekeeper, and they're flighty souls. Love a bit of rough and tumble, "very rough" during which they will bite me to the nearly too hard stage, yeouch. They however are quite nervous. Their strong point is rabbiting, boy do they love chasing bunnies. Once the collar is on, they change into focussed rabbiters. EE I can waffle, as I say mine wouldn't like it, but for 100 pints, I'd take them into the house. Quote Link to post
ianrob 2
Forgot to ask, Do you have to drink the 100 pints in one go, just 'cause if you need a hand like, well I wouldn't see you stuck mate, pal, chum. Just purely as a favour like to help out a mate. Quote Link to post

What type of fireworks does he want to use corner shop brought or heavy duty professional ones? Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
Fed them them drop a cover over the front of your hutch , with most fireworks wanting a safety margin of 25 metres plus we let ours off at the top of the garden and never have had a problem Quote Link to post
sue 1
fireworks dont bother mine ,to be honest they dont care about any loud noises or bangs ,only you can tell by knowing your ferrets how well they will take it . p.s if you need a hand getting through those pints im free lol Quote Link to post
The one 8,511
They maybe think on it as shooting over a burrow with a twelve bore Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
what are ferrets generally like with fireworks? You should get a ferret airborne with five or six rockets ....Seriousley, mine aren't bothered, if it makes you happy stick them indoors for the duration. Mines a pint! Quote Link to post
