Nearly 2 years now since my last dog was pts , i was truly gutted , and each time i read another RIP post , i get a little teary eyed because we all know how much it hurts . I got like you Kay , could`nt stand to see it anymore, and im glad i found the courage to let him go when i did . We`ve all been there mate , hurts like hell, but just know that you made a massive difference to a little doggy`s life and as much as you loved her , she always loved you more than you can know  Be grateful your paths crossed , because life would have been very different without her . Chin up mate

I think it makes it worse because i hand reared her from a few days old & i didnt think i could do it as she was so tiny , so by the time she was a month old there was no way i could send her back to the dog foster womans place

I genuinly didnt want a dog and fostered just very short term for a local woman who tried to place mainly lurchers , but she stayed here , the story was Bess's mother who believe it or not was a brindle staffy was being looked after by a chap who seemingly didnt realise she was in season & so she got out & was had by some tatty mongeral

Bess's mothers owner was in prison & was due to be released around a week before she had the pups, he couldnt deal with the fact his bitch had been ''ruined'' as he put it , as much as he doted on the bitch & she had only eyes for him , he wouldnt agree to leave the pups with her so they had to go, i believe the rest went to the canine defence league as it was then, thats basicaly how she came into the world , lucky us i say as she has never been an ounce of trouble to anyone, the only dog i ever owned who could be trusted to sit on the drive while i cut the lawn & howl at every passing dog she spotted through the window

Oh and her other funny ways , the hatred of ironing boards & carier bags , the obsession with wood
