Feckin Hard Lesson Learned Today

Recommended Posts

My little patt' was hit by a car today. She suffered some serious damage to her front leg; broken bones and un-stitchable cuts. Got her to a vet as soon as possible but when it came down to it the possibility of the treatment running close to, or even in excess of £1000, the decision had to be made. With a heavy heart and lump in my throat i had to ask the vet to put her to sleep.

If I had insurance at less than £10 a month, as I was going to sort "tomorrow or summit", I could of paid out a little excess and my dog would be limping her way to a full recovery.

So all Im trying to say to the folk on here who's dogs are than just workers, if they aren't already insured, get it. And dont wait till tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that. Someone I know had the same choice to make, after one of his lurchers was near paralysed due to a fight with another dog. He was told that the operation that was needed had a high success rate, & he paid the best part of £2000 for this operation. Unfortunately the dog died under the knife, so he was a dog down, plus he still had to pay.

Lots on here would begrudge the £10 or£15 quid mate, but have no problem doing a 50 in the boozer ;)

I'm afraid you're right Wilf. :censored:

I wouldn't of begrudged the grand if i had it. But a couple of hundred would wipe me out.

I would of happily wiped out my bank balance to save this dog though.

Wasnt referring to you, you learned a hard lesson today mores the pity, but do you think anyone will take notice............will they feck ;)

I know you weren't Wilf, I wasn't on the defensive there, just saying if I had it I'd of spent it.

The infuriating thing is I could of comfortably afforded the insurance. Just too damn lazy to

get it sorted.

I have 3 and at one time I had 5.........all insured at about 10 or 15 quid each a month, it has been invaluble.

I know that no matter what I ask of my animals, they will have the very best treatment in the event of it all going wrong.
