dont think it matters mate mine are mostly fed on meat, but we got a jill from an old boy who was stopping ferreting and we couldnt get her on meat just dry and shes a great worker shes on meat aswell now tho finally, but it does matter on the quality feeding they get as kay said they run better on quality fuel.

I think they work better feed on meat just see how much water they drink when fed on dry .And why have they got big teeth if there to fed on cereal ??? .And its meat they would eat in the wild and i can get my rabbits for free i just need to go out to a farm

I really enjoy my ferreting with lamping a close second and getting nought for the rabbits ( 30pence a rabbits sod all ) i use them to feed my ferrets but during the summer running 12 ferrets i need for ferreting in the winter im feeding 3 rabbits a day ,I feel as im just killing rabbits to feed the ferrets .But at least the farmers are happy i control the rabbits all year round ,christ knows how these folk that just go out in the ferreting season keep there permission and im not stuck in front of the google box .And i see it as feeding a diet as close to what they would get in the wild .

christ, how big are your ferrets :hmm:

I have 21 ferrets here at the moment, and 2 rabbits per day are ample

All im taking out in the morning is pelvis's and a bit of fur and my ferrets aren't carrying any spare weight

i can believe it!!

my 7 including 4 kits are easily demolishing 2 rabbits and a bit of kibble thats always in there ... maybe its to do with them being kits?

luckily one of the guys who had a pair of our kits this spring insisted on paying by keeping us in rabbit for the summer LOL
