PeakOil 352
I saw an article a while ago rubbishing claims of a ban in Scotland. I don't think a ban is workable but nothing this shower of sh**e government does surprises me. I think they may go for some kind of licensing similar to FAC / Shotgun, but I can not decide if this is a good idea or not :wallbash: Quote Link to post

danny boi 0
to be honest i think if done properly a form of air rifle lisence would work as it would stop these d*cks just walking into the shop an buying one over the counter no questions asked. but as i said it would need to be well thought out and put into effect properly as not to step on the toes of those of us who deserve the right to own air rifles and practice our sport safely and responsibly. cheers dan Quote Link to post

Guest hpool_hunter
and how many armed robberys ect with shotty's and all , how many of them do you think * have a licence* , it will limit it yes , but not eradicate it . .. if someone wants something bad enough , sure they will find a way , Edited August 13, 2008 by hpool_hunter Quote Link to post
danny boi 0
i see exactly wer your commin from hpool but as you say it should help limit the problem wich i can only see as an improvement. i dont think there will be an outright b*n but if anythinkg does come into force i just hope that this sh*thole government will pull its finger out and for once do something properly instead of sh*tting all over field sports fans! y.i.s dan Quote Link to post

Why do they sell guns to folk who live in built up area's unless the belong to a club or have permission to shoot on somebodies land ,they must realise there going to be shooting about the streets Quote Link to post
Guest hpool_hunter
the goverment should start taking notice of there own people - no offence to anyone else out there , but they seem to concerned about * other* intrests namely other peoples wars , even other countries people , than do anything to support there own countrys intrests ect Quote Link to post
danny boi 0
"Why do they sell guns to folk who live in built up area's unless the belong to a club or have permission to shoot on somebodies land ,they must realise there going to be shooting about the streets " not entirely true mate i live in a built up area i just have to travel a bit to get to my permission or out with friends on theres wether its with lurcher or air rifle. but also im sure some gunshops see it plainly as a sale its not against the law and what this young person does with the gun from when he leaves the shop is nothing to do with the owner what so ever it seems to me all they care about is the money in the till. y.i.s. dan Quote Link to post
Grim Reaper 1
Why do they sell guns to folk who live in built up area's unless the belong to a club or have permission to shoot on somebodies land ,they must realise there going to be shooting about the streets With respect, i would disagree with you there bud - I lived all my life in London until six years ago, and i had owned several air rifles in that time (and i have owned an air rifle since i was 13-14) - i had no permission to shoot on land back then, also, i was not a member of an air rifle club. But i never once used my air rifles for 'shooting about the streets' - i was only able to use them in my back garden, and so that is where i used them. Just felt I had to mention that point with regards to your rhetorical remark mate - i can see what you mean of course, but please don't be tarring us all with the same brush, so to speak. All the best, Grim. Quote Link to post
