My New Gun

Recommended Posts

hello. what a lovely day as i have just been playing with my new air ars s200 mk III(.22) with air arms silencer, 10 shot mag and hawke 3-9x50 MAP scope. all in all i love the gun so far and i am going to finish zeroing it tomorrow eveing.

Here is a pic of my new baby, named by the guys in awe at work "Daisy the Destroyer" lol. sorry for the bad pic ill try to get a better one soon.

The problem i am having is connecting my pump to the cun to recharge. thr guy in the shop told me to connect the brass fitting that you get with the s200 and push it over the T shaped bit of the aor cylinder of the gun. Then he said twist it so it looks like a cross like so...

.

I have done this and tightened the bleed valve on the pump.

Now i begin to pumo up the pump but the pressure on the guage isnt rising and i can feel air that im pumping up coming out from the connection in the picture. Please help as i want the gun fully charged for zeroing tomorrow.

Thankyou

Ryan

could it be possible that, because i havent fired that many shots from a full charge, it wont fill until the internal pressure drops? or is there anything i have to remove from the guns adapter before the first fill?

Hi Ryan,

Don't know much about the S200 - never owned one . . . . .

BUT (and there is always one of them, you noticed that!?) assuming that the pressure is down to 50 bar or less, you may need to cock it first before filling?

This closes the exhaust valve which seals it [rifle] down nice and airtight, so you can then fill it without it pissing the air out on you. That is the proceedure on the S300, the S310, and the S400/410 series, and so i am guessing its also the case with the S200 range as well?

Like i said, i'm not 100% sure on it, as i have never owned an S200, but someone on here may soon confirm if what i am saying will apply to you mate.

Regards,

Grim.

i posted on another thread of mine. the gun was filled to 190 psi at the shop and i have only fired about 20 sots, you think it wont fill because the pressure is still high in the cylinder?

Thanks everyone fo help. Ill have a look on air arms site tonight gilly, i fell asleep last night lol.

first of all ....well done ryan.......youv'e got it at last !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would agree with whats been said already.............pressure hasn't droppeed enough yet ?? and it needs to be cocked prior to filling.

hope you get on ok with it mate..........keep us posted on progress.

looking at the picture ot looks like the fill adaptor is screwing too far into to the hose conector.inside the hoses threaded end there should be a nylon looking insert down in the threads with a small hole in it,this stops the brass fill adaptor screwing all the way down and creates a seal at the same time.

Replied to PM mate!!! (Ignore, now I have seen the pic I know what the problem is)

Looking at the picture mate it looks like you have the wrong hose. It is definatly screwed in to far, and if its able to screw in that far then the threads on the hose are too big. The threads on my hose are half the length as you can see in the pic (giving me a tight seal).

And the other pic is of that small washer I mentioned in the PM.
