kirstysdad 827
i think it is more a case of the local plod not knowing the law as it stands in n.ireland it is still legal to work a terrier to ground on a fox one problem mentioned was the use of a spit every one i hunt with in ireland uses them but here in england i dont know many that do apart from me i think its because of its association with badger digging and some police beleive that is their sole use i live in england now but still use one but keep it out of sight just saves all the aggro if you get a thick copper plus since all the trouble has stop in n.ireland a lot of policemen have to much time on their hands and are now trying to justify their jobs Quote Link to post
sammy/c 3
t bars arenot allowed cause they think they be used for spitting a black and whitethats why they are also known as a spit cause they think we use them to kill them thats exactly what some these know"alls think Quote Link to post
Guest SPIFF
Thats the point ,before some knowall/knownothing shit try to press a conviction a i think it would be a good idea to have a copy of hunting order for ni to let them know what we are doing is legal/ Quote Link to post

I think your assumption might be a little bit wrong, guess where I was last season, anyway, if you're only digging foxes what sticky situation do you think you will get into ?? United Kingdom: Northern Ireland Fox hunting in Northern Ireland would have been banned had the Foster Bill become law. However, by the time of subsequent hunting legislation in the House of Commons, the Northern Ireland Assembly had been established and the hunting issue had been devolved to that body. The Assembly has never debated fox hunting legislation. Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
if you're only digging foxes what sticky situation do you think you will get into ?? Clay Sounds more like a problem the police have with digging full stop than the interpretation of the law. Terrier man 38
Spiff where ar you digging iner city? Guest Eamon.Mc
STEPHEN PHILLPOTT USPCA STATED THAT HE WILL HAVE ALL HUNTING WITH DOGS BANNED IN THE NORTH OF THIS COUNTRY WITHIN THE NEXT 3 YEARS. HE IS LIFTING ANY TYPE OF STRONG DOG GETTING VETS TO VERIFY THEY ARE FIGHTING DOGS OR BANNED BREEDS AND PUTTING THEM DOWN. HE IS ALSO CHASING ANYONE KNOWN TO BE DIGGING. ALL HE WANTS IS TO CONVICT PEOPLE. A WHILE BACK THERE WAS 2 STAFFS LIFTED ON A WOMAN IN BELFAST THEY WERE SEPERATED AND PENNED ALONE, 1 WAS A YOUNG BITCH, THE WOMAN WON HER ANIMALS BACK IN COURT BUT HAD TO HAVE THE YOUNG BITCH DESTROYED AS IT HAD MATURED AND WAS NOT SOCIALISED AND HAD BECOME AGGRESSIVE. I was at the show last year when the peelers turned up in full riot gear, all because one of the lads had american bull dogs in a trailer, I think that was spearheaded by Philpott.. he is a cock.... 3 years, do you think he will be around that long Quote Link to post

Guest Eamon.Mc
FOR A WHILE THERE HE WAS GETTING BUSSED ABOUT IN THE NEW POLICE CHOPPER THEY HAD HERE BUT AS FAR AS I'VE HEARD THAT'S STOPPED DUE TO LACK OF FUNDS. I DON'T THINK HE'LL GET HUNTING BANNED HERE BUT HE'LL CERTAINLY MAKE HIS PRESENCE FELT. AND HE'S MAKING IT DIFFICULT FOR ANYONE HUNTING WITH DOGS, ESPECIALLY US DIGGING LADS. Quote Link to post
Guest SPIFF
SJ you spend a season here and think its all happy clappy?I ve been digging here for 13 seasons now and have been pulled many times ,i know fellas who are pulled several times a year and i know of 2 men convicted of badger digging while attempting to get the dog out of a fox burrow with fox dung at the mouth etc etc ,no sign of brock. There are current cases going on where the uspca are prosecuting lads for digging foxes out of what they say is a badger burrow, despite no signs of badger, and foxes actually dug and killed to prove .TM the USPCA have been following lads in PSNI helicopters who are beating cover with hounds, landing in the field etc to inspect dogs.No peelers in the countryside? My mate was stopped and present was a PSNI helicopter and 4 police cars. Now i am a member of SACS but i would like to have a printed copy of my legal rights to hunt in my country. MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT IF YOU ARE SEEN AT A FOX BURROW DIGGING FOX YOU STAND A VERY HIGH CHANCE OF THE USPCA OR THE PSNI USING THE BADGER LAW AGAINST YOU,BECAUSE. 1.THE BURDEN OF PROOF IS REVERSED ,YOU HAVE TO PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE. 2.IT CREATES HIGH PUBLICITY FOR THE USPCA. SJ I D APPRECIATE IT IF YOU DIDN T INCINUATE ON AN OPEN FORUM THAT I HAD OR HAVE INTENTIONS TO BREAK THE LAW. HOWEVER THE INTENTIONS OF STEPHEN PATRICK PHILPOTT OF ARDMORE ,NEWRY WON T STOP ME ENJOYING DIGGING. Quote Link to post
Terrier man 38
sounds like where fighting a battle that simply cant be won id love to say that philpot prick wont last long but there sure will be more the likes of him and it will slowly but surly ruin the sport we all follow..
