andyfoster10 0 Posted August 12, 2008 Report Share Posted August 12, 2008 hi all just thought i would ask you smart people on here i have a ford transit van a few weeks ago it was taken from out side my house i found it the next day at the top of the next road just before i was going to report it stolen so i never did i didnt claim on the insurance because it wasnt that badly damaged i.e.wing mirror and bumper broke and hot wired so i got a call this morning from the insurance company claiming i had crashed in to another car and didnt stop (hit and run) just a coulpe of questions 1. where do i stand with the insurance company 2. where do i stand with the police 3. what can i do so i dont get in trouble 4. is it my fault for not reporting it stolen Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Malt 379 Posted August 12, 2008 Report Share Posted August 12, 2008 Be prepared for some awkward questions, you should have reported it to the police even if you didn't intend to make a claim. You shouldn't have even touched the van until the police had been & seen it.
