hagar 5
I have a small 65 pound mainly hines bitch that was brought up alongside a couple of working patterdales, she has a great nose for fox rabbit and even rat, she will work deer though does lack the speed of a bullgreyhound so doesnt go on serious outings but on feral pigs she is great ,though yet to be tested on true wild boar despite several outings to well known places , i was wondering if any others on here had experience of working bulldogs as i feel they have a lot to offer in the field and would be interested in any anecdotes by other members
sylus 0
i have 2 american bulls, althought they are getting on in years, they have excelled for there size in working the fields, they have flushed and took hare , rabbit, pheasant and any thing else they could flush out, and took it in a good fashion, although they have never been worked on pigs
BlueCoyote 0
i have an old pair of bulldogs. the bitch always had potential but we lived in the city. once we moved out to the country i thought i'd finally get to see her at work but she ended up breaking her back, so now all she does is stay close to the house and protect the live stock. the male dog was abused before i got him... he'll do what ever she does. but all by himself he's just not a bulldog. i finally got some pups recently and i am working on a plan to have them trained for hogs and what ever else i can get. my bitch was always fast enough to catch birds and rabbits, and she has a good nose on her. before she was injured my mom's chickens escaped.... i put the muzzle on the dog and let her help in tracking and catching them. she did a good job too! didnt injure a single one! (the muzzle helped in that i'm sure lol
