Recommended Posts

lost one of my ferrets yesterday. i built a run for them on sunday which is connected to there hutch. came home last night to feed them and my albino jill was missing. i can see no signs of where or how she got out. i am completely gutted and have closed hole from hutch to run off as i dont know how it got out.

Leave some food around the garden for her. You might be lucky, they can survive a while on there travels, do the usual things, ask the neighbours to keep an eye out, etc, hope you get her back, they're buggers for escaping if they get the chance!

cheers mate i keep blaming myself cause i built the run and there must be a gap somewhere. the only good thing is i got a new albino hob on sunday as well and he is settling in nicely.

look at other options too, could someone have gotten in an stole her, how many ferrets in cage/run, could they have eaten her?, Ive had it happen

hopefully not mate there were only four other ferrets on being three months old and the others have been together for about 7 months now.

good point stubby. also dont tell too many people that youve lost her. (especially farmers) if your ferret goes and eats some farmers chickens where you have good permission. if it comes round to him that it belonged to you you may lose some good permission. try and get into his good books if it happens by waiting for someone to ask you to pick it up lol. it happened to my friend and as the farmer gave him permission he knew that he had ferrets therefore he asked him to go and pick it up. and the word got round that he was a decent guy which got him even more permission lol

my brother had this also last week , the little bollox did a harry huydinni. we found him about a week later next to the road.1.5 miles from house. brother went out about 1.40am for ciggs and seen him on the edge of the carrigway, took next exit off turn around he was dead. he swore he was alive when he seen him still warm not a mark on him no traffic on the road. ferrets are weird little things

Dont rule out that the ferrets may have been eaten, had it happen several times , check the hutch to see if theres any bits of fur , i had this happen with ferrets who had lived togeter for yrs
