this seems to be quite busy in here , wouldnt you be tempted to make the airgun section split up by makes / pics etc.. ?

you probably know why i am saying this but i truly think the airgun section could get really busy and would be ideal to promote and hopefully understanding of other forms of hunting

just an idea :)

It's a possibility, something we'd have to chat to Mr B about.

My biggest concern is that we split the forum into sections that only a few people visit? There's nothing more off putting, for me anyway, than a load of sections which overwhelm the viewer with tonnes of things to visit. :hmm:

If we look at that other shooting site it has many different sections catering to many different tastes. Some visited lots. Some not so. Ironically it's their General section that has the most viewers and contributors. A bit like our set up.

At least with our threads everything is available under one roof (sunshine indoors) and maybe that's why our forum is so busy? :hmm:

What kind of other hunting do you mean?

I know what you mean about busy. I usually have 5-6 pages to read through when I log on a couple of times a week. But I do think it's easier this way and not just selfishly because I moderate it. It's possible to over complicate things and I think having set forums for certain pursuits will see people not viewing everything and only specific things. In the current format people are exposed to everything and will read things they couldn't under such another system. It's Mr B's call on that one anyway.

How about things relating to hunting like peoples posts about their hunting in 1 section and another section for things relating to air guns of all types? Just a suggestion.

This is first and foremost a hunting site. So that's usually a given although I don't mind if people want to post pics of targets and such. Nothing like doing a gun review and seeing what kind of grouping it gets with pellet choice Z. As this is an airgun section of a major hunting site it's kinda like having everything under one roof.
