FalconBSA 0
What are the advantages and disadvanges of a sporting or game shotgun? game will be fixed choke at quarter and half, a sporter will be multi choke Hello all, new to the forum and don't want to start an arguement but that is not correct! Plenty of game guns are multichoke and plenty of sporters are fixed...that is not the difference! It is weight, rib, stock/butt and barrel angle/length etc...but that wasn't the question! Strange as it may seem.. A Game gun is designed to give best advantage against Game Sporter is designed to give best advantage on sporting shoots DTL is designed to give best advantage on DTL A Skeet gun is designed to give best advantage on Skeet ETC ETC These guns will give every shooter a better chance at each of these disciplines, however, for the ordinary average shooter he will get on fine with any gun for any discipline, no need to have 20+ shotguns in the cabinet unless you want to get really serious. All the best! Falconbsa Quote Link to post

All the best! Falconbsa I'd go along with that, my current and last Beretta Game guns are Multi choke, but then again so is my Beretta Sporter! Game guns are lighter, narrower rib, barrel rises and tend to stop at 30" barrels! Edited August 11, 2008 by Deker Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
Game guns shoot high and sporter flat? As a rule YES!!! But I suspect someone will come back and say mine doesn't..every manufacture has their own definition and spec for each type of gun, so there are minor differences, but the principle stays the same with all manufacturers!! Just like some manufacturers choke sizes are different!! Quote Link to post
