Jim Grant 4
Some of us run our dogs with a collar, whilst others use the slip lead with collar attached. I have a home made slip lead to be used to release the dog with it's collar on. Most Horse Tack suppliers sell a thing called a "Panic Snap" or "Panic Clip". As it has a ring on a turn buckle you can lash any sort of short lead you fancy to it. Keep the lead very short and you can release the clip with one hand, whilst holding your lamp steady in the other. Just the job for the Lamping Comp!! Quote Link to post

I nkow the type you mean they are very good......i got one off DDD that is spot on, its the same kind of clip on the slips that release the whole lot, but this just slips through the collar and locks in place, so when you slip the collar is on, i gave him exact measurments for mine, as i find the shop bought ones all just slightly the wrong length, and it fits perfect!!!!! No reaching down or trying to scoop a bit up as your dog pulls to be off, its just right there, next to your thumb ready for action......... Quote Link to post
Jim Grant 4
I know that I can get one from one of the on-line suppliers for under £2, plus the usual P+P. Try one of your local tack shops. You can cut up an old lead and just keep the hand loop plus 4-5" of lead. The clip works on the principle of pulling a locking overlay up and releasing the clip. This thing will not release accidentally. Quote Link to post
lamping-lad 160
I JUST PUT AN NORMAL LEAD THROUGH THE COLLAR AND LET GO OF ONE END TO SLIP THE DOG I FIND THIS WAY NICE AND EASY AND SAVES FIDDELING ABOUT WITH COMPLICATED SLIP LEADS IN THE DARK. Quote Link to post
