shenners 0
As above......in my experience it aint so much the conditions as the time of day, dawn and dusk (as with most wildlife) is the best time to spot them but of course if there are plenty of them where you shoot, you can get lucky any time of day if you're quiet. They definitely head for their burrows in wet weather.................but strangely I have had my best bags when there is a thunderstorm looming, warm and overcast but couldnt say whether that made the difference or was just coincidence. Deker 3,478
Go along with pretty much everything above, they don't like the rain and will tend to stay home but after a day or 2 of not stop rain they will come out just as usual...cos they are getting a bit hungry! They do not like it too hot either, those really hot sweaty evenings for you, will often be very unproductive bunny wise!! Quote Link to post
Molie1337 35
I find just after a heavy downpoor is always productive, even if only to get your feet wet in the long grass! Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
Depends on your shoot & getting to know what the rabbits habits are.My shoot is in Weardale so if it,s windy at home or raining i'll not usually bother to go up there as it will be twice as worse. So i suppose(maybe) rabbits dislike the weather conditions we find uncomfortable to shoot in.When i,ve been caught in downpours up there,i sit tight under cover & once it stops they do eventually re-appear.Find their sunning spots, favourite feeding areas it just comes with experience & understanding your own shoot. McSparkie 0
Can anyone tell me when it will stop raining? It's August! I went out at dusk last night, spotted two tail dis-appearing round hedges, then I get soaked. Baa humbug! Quote Link to post

McSparkie 0
We are in the lee of a half decent hill here, when I went out at dusk last night, the sky looked clear and my hopes were high (esp. as I'd spotted a couple of bunnies further down a field we overlook). I managed to get half way down the field before the heavens opened. Grrrrrr! Soaked again. Some proper waterproofs are next on the shopping list. Quote Link to post
