Navara Indicator Problem

Recommended Posts

Went out in the Navara today and the Indicators have gone on the blink, they work for 1 or 2 flashes and stop!! its the same with the Hazzards too :hmm:.

I'm thinking its the flasher unit? but I don't want to buy one unless I'm pretty sure this is the problem, any advice would be apreciated....

Is it intermitant or does it happen all the time?

check the fuses could be a dodgey fuse cheap fix only a few pence for one or could even be a short in the wires or just a dodgey conection simple fix really .... indicators ar set up this way so it will show a fault ie if one of the 3 indicator bulbs on either side of the car/jeep/why... it will flash like mad...

sounds like a minor problem..

Many thanks guys for the help .

Just stripped the front off the centre console and came across this relay but it says nothing about being a flasher unit but is this the one? this is the only relay that clicks when I switch the indicators on but it on clicks once and stops but it shows there is a feed going to it from the indicator switch.

the other thing that I can't get my head round is when I use the key fob to Imobilize the car the Indicators click twice ok? this seems to run to two seperate relays! one behind the steering wheel and another largish black box behind the centre console cover...

cheers

My money is on theres a short somewhere or another due to the hazords working fine when the alarm is switched on its either a short in the wire or somthing to do with the insicator stalk control system is the hazord switch up around there if so theres your problem...

I'd have said that relay is to do with something fitted after the truck left the factory, alarm or trailer? I don't think many manufacturers use Halfords terminals and scotchlok connectors, flasher relay is normally with the main fuses under the bonnet or in an easy to reach compartment under the dash, it won't be hidden away usually.

Our mutual friend has some special tools for these types of jobs, an axe, a hammer and lots of bad words! Try that, it might help ............

Failing that ........ Try your local Halfords and tell the spotty young boy there that you need a new flasher relay but can't find the location on the car, or send your lady in it (works every time!) the boy will show you where it is, you thank him and Bob's your fathers brother!?

that relay looks like a split charge relay for a tow bar and the fact its made by PCT my main tow bar supplier just back it up i would guess that the indicator problem is probably the flasher unit but check the stalk isint worn or loose fitting that some times causes this kind of problem hope this helps levo
