Right lads anyone know what the law is to this. What it is Ive been taking my lurcher pup for walks on farms without permission  . I do keep her on the lead if I see a house a field or so away but then let her off when i'm out of view. I do carry my game licence with me at all times as I look at it if the farmer does approach me then I can ask him for permission to work it. I would like to know what the law states with these actions I'm taking. Would it be classed as poaching even tho I'm not working her. Replies appreciated :good::good:

Keep to the footpaths, or maybe you just lost the footpath ;)

Keep it on the lead then if the farmer sees you he will think your a responsible dog owner. Plus if their is sheep etc, in the field and your dogs loose he could shoot it say it was worrying the stock . They would believe him not you, talking from expierience, good luck.

as a general rule of thumb i generally apply the following method..

Meander gently along the tranquil hedgerows and set asides of pastoral Britain at will , Remember, You have a right to roam anyway in our green and pleasant land, Dress inconspicously, A DARK COLOURED SKI JACKET JEANS AND BOOTS is far better for dog walking regalia as opposed to Rambo impressions..Upon being sighted..either adopt one of the following measures..

1/ Duck and cover if he hasnt seen you.

2/ Approach and pass the time of day discussing the weather , the Eu , Big Brother

Or 3/ Nash like f**k.

trespass isnt a criminal offence on its own,the landowner only has the right to ask you to leave,as your only walking a dog,but if you happen to be ferreting, lamping or coursing etc, then its time to take to your heels,

Simple answer is be careful. Don't give too much away about what you're upto because those silly anti c**ts are watching this looking for tips. They can't sort it for themselves so why does everyone seem so intent on filling in the blanks for them?
