tonetone 0
hello just been trying out some more reloads same recipie. 55gr nosler balst tip 25.5gr BLC-2 my first 3 shots were at 100yds and i got a nice inch group. the group was a good inch high, which i want! then i shot 2 shots at 200yds and they were exactly an inch and 2/8ths apart. this two shot group was 2inchs LOW. does this sound about right? my CZ is still quite new only fired around 120 shots. cheers tone Quote Link to post

FJager 0
Tone you need to fire at least 3 shots to consider it a group, 2 shots can be misleading. Quote Link to post

dwighet 1
I found in my 223 using 55 grainers that 1.5 inches high at 100 is bang on at 200 Quote Link to post
Red"eye 0
Hi Tone and others I was just looking up your load,i see its just at the starting load for the 55gr bullet. Id just like to add that in my experience loading for my .223 the starting load like the max load is not always the most accurate. My advice to you would be to move up gradually and of course never exceed the max load with your bullet weight. I use sierra blitzking bullets 50gr and 55gr with Varget powder only because it had fairly good load data for the range of bullet weights i was going to use. Like the previous post on where you can expect your shots to land on target at 100yds and 200yds ,i agree with dwighet its best to zero high at 100yds,Works for both 50s and 55s for me..I think you could bring your group up slightly by increasing your 100yd zero height or by increasing the powder charge.Maybe a bit of both would work best. The funs in trying the satisfaction comes later when you arrive at a load you trust. Hope this helps... Quote Link to post
