Guest Leveller
I've had enough of wearing my battery pack over my shoulder and having it swing all over the place like Wilf's manbag and was thinking of getting one of those belt packs are they any good or do you need to have a harris like Jenny from the block to keep them around your waist. Even worse than having a swinging battery would be to have my trollies at half mast like a homeboy. Quote Link to post
Guest fell terrier
put it in a ruck sack i got stung with the belt pack and im that sick of it coming un done when climbing under or over fences and hitting the floor i now just put it over me shoulder plus it keeps falling down like a homeboys jeans like you said stick to the shoulder pack Quote Link to post
scouser3038 1
The buckles on them are shite but im sure Strong Stuff could replace it for one of his heavy duty dog collar buckles, other than that you dont know you have got them on!!!! and it leaves your back free to carry a bag full of bunnies. bill88 6
I converted a bumbag to carry two 7ah batteries that are parallel wired to give 14ah and spread weight. Its not too bad but still rattles about a bit.A small tightly strapped rucksack is another option which is probably the most comfortable of all. undisputed 1,664
Tried a belt pack few years ago and was so pissed of with it I gave it away. The shoulder setup is much more practical and if you put a belt through it you'll barely notice its there. alternatively use a back pack Edited August 8, 2008 by undisputed Quote Link to post
Guest oldskool
i had a rigid shoulder pack and i spent years with a stiff shoulder... now that i have a deben belt pack i have'nt looked back... i like the fact that i can take off runnin and i dont have the shoulder pack slappin and bangin about... i also find the belt pack alot more quiet because i'm not having to grip the cable of the lamp to stop it bangin the side of the shoulder pack... Rabbithunter 456
used to use a shoulder pack with a belt also.... so it was a bit like wearing a seatbelt in a car. took the strain off the shoulders. That broke, due to my bad worksmanship didnt get round to fixing it, so just use a normal shoulder pack now. Have used a belt pack before, it was ok. just keeps pulling your stride's down. Also, not to comfy if your sitting in the car/van either. i seen a set up, it was a harness, with a big battery taped onto the back, looked the bee's knees but as above, doubt it will be good when sitting in the car. No messin 2
Add shoulder straps to your belt packs, you won't get a better set up than this. I started with clip on braces, but now have shoulder straps made from seat belts, which I found in the local scrapyard. Edited August 8, 2008 by No messin Quote Link to post
