Mike Browns whippets

Recommended Posts

Prey drive is spot on ... my pup is only 5 months and just wants to get going, however he'll have to wait till after xmas!

Been out past few nights walking him on the lamp get him used to being out and about, easy to train recall is spot on and retrival is getting there. He is from Mike Browns stuff, has Superblue and Sooty Sam in his lines. Both his parents worked fox ( pre ban of course) And seem to fair well on old charlie aswel as puss and rabbits. At first he was nervous but now he's just full of fun and badness, ok with kids, not keen on cars and objects to going in the boot sometimes :censored: And as for housebreaking ... he's about there now, seemed to be doing well then he started pissing all over the house :censored: Also at first he seemed to be a bit clingy which was a bit pf a pain in the arse.

It seems that the prey drive is ok. But for those who have one, how are they to live with?...I know whippets who are "nervous" and also ones that are calm...I know one can't generalise but what is the temperament of your Mike Brown whippet?...with kids/cars, being left alone, was it easy to get housebroken if you keep it indoors?

You don't know mines there until you touch her lead and then she comes out of her bed, good with the baby, ruthless with my terrier and lurcher though and swaps beds with (evicts) them just because she can. She'll tackle anything but isn't fast enough imo and yaps and is a complete nightmare off the lead anywhere but she has her uses. She will hunt through rough stuff all day and can find stuff pretty well with a decent nose.
