I'm no expert on long netting, but it sounds like one of your options, of course you will need a friend to watch the ferret exit while you are dealing with the net, but it depends what "prickly hedge bush" it is, will it die down come autum? if so maybe you can then purse the warrens.

Just my opinion, i'm sure someone more experienced will give you some other ideas

Good luck.

If you can't do nothing else, what i would do, (i'm not saying you should) ;) is, get my ass down there late/early with the rifle. you have permission, and if you cant do anything else with the bunnies, then it's a risk worth taking. IMHO.

buy yourself a petrol scrub trimmer, the type with the blade rather than nylon cord, if you start cutting back now, as its an allotment Im sure your be able to burn off the cut bush, your look better to whoever has given you permission, as not only will you deal with there rabbit problem, but you'll be tidying up their allotments,

it makes it look good, and proffessional, and you may get further permissions (adjoining fields) if people seeing you taking a professional route with this, rather than ferreting it as is, getting pee'd off with the branbles, and maybe not returning

plenty of us, prepare ferreting ground, months or weeks prior to ferreting

the first thing id do is shoot the buggers but if im caught they have my details

.......And face a criminal conviction of tresspass with a firearm if you don't have the permission to use your rifle without the landowner concent or in a public space (Your sub 12 ft/lbs air-rifle becomes a firearm under law once it is criminally used in tresspassing/use in public etc.) there is a mandatory 5 year jail term for this :icon_eek: (but you'll still have a job in jail as a cell-block tour-mentor for new inmates)...

I would think twice :icon_eek: about taking you air-rifle out without permission, and saying you didn't know is NOT an excuse by law!

Also remember that the users of the allotments are often not the owners/tenants of the land! So any OK you get with allotment users should be verified with the land-owner!

Cheers
