Dawn B 212
I have always had pet Cats, think the world of them, at present I have 6, they are all confined to my property and cannot escape. My Dogs are perfect with my Cats, but hate with a passion any outside. A few moths ago they got hold of one in the garden that got in, but couldnt get out due to the fencing to keep mine in. Luckily I was there in time, and I managed to rescue the Cat, who had no collar on but looked well cared for. He appeared to have no injuries except for a bite on the back of his head. I scanned him with my scanner, he was chipped and he belonged to a family in the next street. They collected him and I explained what happened, they understood perfectly and could see how my dogs were with my cats. I absolutely adore Cats and I NEVER ever allow the dogs to chase them outside, I always teach the "leave" command and reinforce it at every opportunity, Id hate for my dogs to harm somebodies pet, just because a cat doesnt wear a collar, doesnt mean it doesnt belong to anyone. Whilst I detest the intended persuit of what people "think" are feral Cats, I can totally understand that if a cat gets into some ones garden, they may not be able to prevent harm coming to it in time. One of mine. This dog was the worst to get "safe" around kittens, it took many weeks for this cat to be safe out all the time, but now the dog is super and very fond of them. undisputed 1,664
what if there are feral cats attacking pheasant pens. are they fair game of should they not be touched. i dont think i could break a fox dog to cats if i wanted to. perhaps a more sensible rabbitting dog. at the end of the day i never let my dogs loose anywhere but hunting ground and around yards i am careful. i do believe that cats should be kept closed up the same as dogs. its a reall nussance the shitting in the garden and fighting late at night setting my dogs off. I would say if feral cats are attacking pheasant pens shoot the feckers instead of letting a dog do it....all my lurchers do foxes and have no prob with my cats....In an ideal world cats would be locked up the same as dogs but unfortunately we dont live in one
allgame 0
i hate cats and think they shouldnt leave the owners house, they kill more native wildlife then all other pest animals put together in austrailia. trianing a dog on cats is a graet steping stone to foxes especially a young dog in saying that iv also meet hunters whos dogs wont touch the family pet but will happy kill any other cat i always tell the farmer if they've got a cat well do the best we can to aviod it but if it gets in the way of the dogs it's its own fault if somone wouldnt want me on there land because of they have cats or my dogs killed one of theier cats then they can keep there land and their foxes cats are much worse then foxes over here and any chance i get ill put my dogs on them
