Guest Bullet338
I got home yesterday from a road trip with my wife , we had been gone for a couple of days . It was starting to snow , so I made some calls and we figures we should run the turkey from Christmas season off the dogs as well as our selves . It took about an hour to cut a fresh cat track it was a good size and he was trailing some deer . And real fresh - so we descided to unhook the dogs and see what would happen . Boy - they had some pent up energy and just wanted to go - and go they did . 20 minutes of round and round in a timber block , then all hell broke loose ! They had sorted our the tracks and were now on a smoken hot track . It won't be long now !Unless I miss my guess . 10 minutes they were at the tree . This is what we found when we got their as well . Sitting up their like a Rooster with a bad temper . And he wasn't happy at all ! He was up about 30-35 ft in a good size tree. Scotty had always won't to take a cat with his bow and this was his chance . He made a great shoot and the pictures will tell the rest of the story ! The cat measured 7'4" and weight between 145-150 lbs. We did cut a second track of a larger Tom , we will have to check this out maybe tomorrow if the weather holds ! Guest Bullet338
Hey Fella's , glad you all enjoyed our adventure . I try and answer your questions for sure , I seem to remember Scott's bow being a PSE compound with a 50 lb pull . It did a great job . Someone was asking about that dogs and if they talk - Oh for sure , as soon as I dump them out on a hot track all hell brakes loose . Their can be heard for a long ways . But it is a sweet to the ears for sure . Thats likely why I love to run hounds so much . Have a good day . Bullet Quote Link to post
