Are these longer haired ferrets known as angora ferrets.. If theres a possability that one of the parents are they are known to be bad parents and will stop feeding young and sometimes stop looking after them.. Run a check on google for more info if this helps.. :victory:

chatswrth should be blacked for not holding puppy classes

all i can say is give them all plenty of fresh meat every night

how old befor thay can eat meat i was told 8 week's, there still feeding only off the jill but i will still give her all the meat she needs

you should have done a little home work before breeding ,the kits will start eating meat from about 3 weeks of age usually before they have their eyes open .no wonder mum is looking thin trying to feed all the kits .give fresh meat every night and if its all gone put a little more in the next night

Its not enough no wonder the jills thin she is knackered, kits dont tend to do well on dry food , they need meat as has already been pointed out

Im not going to start saying that dry is no good, as I use it myself, but only as a supplement, a jill and 5 kitts in my eyes be getting at least half a rabbit per day, 7 days a week, any that was left (normally none) would be removed the next morning,

its amazing how quick, flies will lay eggs on raw meat, therefore having meat only in the hutch/court in the hours of darkness greatly reduce that,

I am assuming Swanhunter is a lad , not knowing the kids on here but if theres no Rabbit available at home right now then what does he feed then untill more rabbit can be obtained, mom aint always got a fiver to go up Tesco for mince either in an emergency , my gripe is the parents not taking control of the situation & then the kids are left in a mucking fuddle because there out of there deapth

Just a little crib

yer i think your right but i did do my home work but i think in the wrong place's i was told 6 to 8 weeks befor you start weening and ther 5 weeks on sunday :icon_redface:

The only thing you can do is offer whatever raw meat you have to hand or can go & get , as long as its fresh & theres plenty of water they should be ok , if you dont have any rabbit chicken wings will be ok , they can gnaw on them & give the mom a break as well , still leave dry food in for her
