SMOGGY 34
by normal collar i mean a ferret finder collar not one of those silly designer collars with leads lol well if the ferret gets caught up in some roots or something you start digging I said if you lost the ferret, ie if it got away from the burrow without been seen, the collars not much good if your 500 metres away Quote Link to post

SMOGGY 34
Your determined to bolster this argument eh.You seem to have turned it from muzzles to collars. Are you a lawyer by any chance lol sorry mate, getting carried a way, wouldn't care haven't used one in years, haven't done any serious ferreting in years if the truth be known. But I always thought that muzzles have their uses, and the arguement that you shouldn't use one in case you lose your ferret and it can't feed it self, is a bit lame. But i can't believe no one else uses them. Quote Link to post
Kay 3,709
Well lets put it this way pet shops would sell them if there was any call for them Quote Link to post
andy s410c 61
Muzzling a working fert may as well send a soldier to the front line without a gun .How would the fert defend itself, nobody knows what goes on down below when your trusted working partner is in the thick of it.Lay ups are a part of ferretting, all you can do is take preventetive measures you have control over ie well fed ferts, noise discipline.Last season i had 2 layups which lasted about half a hour....BIG DEAL,it,s part of the sport(ocassionally) Quote Link to post

richie 1
i cant believe anyone would put a muzzle on a ferret then put them to work, bang out of order ! & who cares if youngens are under ground, they need controlling too.... the idea is to wipe out all the rabbits.. rich Quote Link to post
