As it says in Jackie Drakefords book Working Ferrets the only ferret she has ever managed to get a muzzle onto was a stuffed one.

We used them occaisonally, on our old hobs especially at this time of year when there was a lot of young about, and you had some deep holes, nothing worst than digging five foot in the hot sun for a bunch of rabbits 4 inches long. we never had a problem with them,

i would never use one , for the simple reason your ferret has no means to defend its self,i didnt think anyone now days would put their ferret in to those kind of circumstances

i've never used one but i could definately see their advantages with hobs who lets face it even when well fed still kill!

Well i dont like muzzles on ferrets & cant really think why they would need to be used , but having said that its better than the brass rings stitched to the ferrets lips that method was used donkeys yrs ago

Not to mention the the best argument for not using them."A big fat doe rat!!!! Imagine facing that b*****d with no means of defence.Anyone who puts a ferret down a hole with a muzzle on is just asking for trouble.(my opinion anyway)

Lets say you have a normal collar on, and you lose your ferret. it then gets a a big twig or root under the collar, so its trapped and cant get off. it would stave to.
