i had an old dog, deerhound/grey/collie/grey cross that when i took him out lamping he used to run down the outside of the beam i was just wondering if anyone else has this with their dog . cheers Tony

yes my collie has a similar trait think its the rounding sheep aspect coming threw.

saying that as he is geting older he is more full on straight down.he also wouldnt pick a rabbit up out of its seat he would wait to see which way it was going first .so id say its the collie ,i dont no in what way the deerhound works  hows the pups

the greyhound bitch i took on earlier in the year has of her own accord taken to running out of the beam, starting from the slip she runs in an arc and appears out of the darkness up the arse of her prey, works for her and she is quite successfull she also has started to cut them off from the hedges or cover and turning them back into open ground,as most good things do it has happend purely by chance. :victory:
