north warwickshire beagles 0 Posted February 7, 2006 Report Share Posted February 7, 2006 Hi all i have just logged on 2 this wonderfully forum, and would like to say hi to all I have only got a terrier which is the first dog that i have owned myself as im just 15. I have alway fancied a lurcher for rabbits and the odd fox or to, and was just wondering what cross would be beat? i have had experience with lurcher as i walk alot with my next door neighbour, he used to have a pure greyhound which was very very quick but as thick as crap, and its endournce is poor!! midnight 657 Posted February 8, 2006 Report Share Posted February 8, 2006 hi mate welcome to the site . im gona get alot of stick for this but ..... i bred some first cros bull whippets a year or so back that would have been just right for what you want . size wise 21 + inch o the shoulder . there was some realy diferant types came out the mating ranging from heavy thick to light racie . they seem to be doing realy well taking fox rabbit hare and deer. but im afreaid there ios none going spare ... but if your into terrier work aswell i think it could be you perfect lurcher.. im planning to breed some 3/4 whippet 1/4 bull this summer , if the bitch ever brakes down . all the best matt Quote Link to post
