Guest RobW71
On the ferret finder, there are two modes, search and then locate. search mode you lay the receiver flat and point to the signal, until you get to 8 foot or under and then switch it onto locate and hold the receiver upright just like the mk1 and find the nearest signal, the sweet spot is about 10 inches square so a bit of practice is needed to find the sweeter spot of the sweet spot, so to speak. It's marked on the rocker switch S/search, L/locate. I've never had a problem with mine Regards Rob Quote Link to post
Rabbithunter 456
I had problem with mine. I had it on SEARCH and it was reading fine but on the LOCATE scale. I had it on LOCATE and it was reading crap, i had collar 2 foot below locater and it was off the scale. Sent it back to deben and it was a loose magnet? It works fine now. Quote Link to post

Leadhead 0
Deben Just noticed this on the deben website. They have updated the MK3 box with a pin pointer control to allow you to increase sensitivity and mute the volume so be carefull if your looking to upgrade your kit over the summer i would have of thought that this would be a very good addition to the design! PETEWINN 5
yup, its a good new feature, and we've just got a load of the updated versions in stock! what is the difference between mk2 and mk3? Am just starting ferreting and am not sure whic one to buy? Any suggestions? Mk2 is obsolete and the collar batteries only last 30 hours. Make sure you get the latest Mk3 with pin point device. Collar batteries last 300 hours. Quote Link to post
