Guys

Game Licences were abolished 1 August 2007 in England and Wales.

There is no legal requirement to hold a licence to either take or sell game anymore. There is no requirement for a local council licence either nationally. If your local council has some strange byelaw requiring this then maybe, but the national requirement for a game licence was abolished last year!

My council gave me and my Game Dealer a hard time about it last year and threatened action (in September2007) until I stuffed a copy of the Regulatory Reform (Game) Order 2007, 1 August 2007 under their nose, they crawled away all sheepish then...and how did you get away with £4, it used to cost me £6 here!!!???

There is no problem giving rabbit/deer/etc., etc, to anyone but if you wish to put your quarry into the food chain for financial reward you will need the approriate food hygiene certificate and your Game Dealer or Restaurant should not take the quarry from you unles you can fulfil the hygiene requirements!

PS

If Game Licences are still available then it is your local post office taking the p**s and trying to use up forms already covered in dust...you do not need them..look up the Reform Order I have quoted above if you are in doubt

you a grave digger/cremator grim??

No mate not a grave digger or cremator operator . . . . you are close, but no cigar! lol

I am a Hearse Driver by trade, and very proud to be so too. Its a very challenging thing to be doing, as you are continually against the clock, and you should always be aiming to get to your destination 5 minutes before you need to be there, to make sure that the funeral runs on time. So far, i have never been late at a house, church, cemetary or crematorium, and thats a good record to be proud of. There are some funeral companies that do arrive late, and it is such bad manners, as well as being a poor show.

Before being awarded the post of Hearse Driver, i had to start at the bottom of the pile, and was driving the last limousine (or Lim, for short) of six in our garage. I worked up from last lim to Lead Lim over a period of 18 months in London, and had to prove my abilities at every stage before promotion. I spent 18 months on the lims, and then got the position of Hearse Driver, which to me, is the ultimate accolade for a funeral driver.

Hope this is helpful or intersting mate?

Regards,

Grim.
