I have seen fallow deer straight line fast dogs more than once, they turn quite well for big animals and jump for fun without stumbling and falling as much as a roe would under pressure.

my dog would do to much damage, wont hold 1, massacres game. will hopefully be getting a trophy(shot obviously) will show you then. might be able to post an old pick of my dads,will ask.

I know what you mean about the deer down that way. Would imagine they must be easier to catch as you can get stones throw away in daylight. Have seen them on an industrial estate almost in peoples gardens.! But surely they still put up a fight.

far out wish deer were as visible here as they are there!!

 

they are nearly like a inbred cousin, you never hear of them :rofl: and if you do its hushed and not spoken of

 

im fortunate to have fallow on one of the properties i hunt, but have never seen them, only droppings

.. mind you i hunt at night and the owner said they see them during the days, very early morning

i caught a deer bit smaller then a fallow with my roo dog a year or so ago and i hunt samber over hounds reackon youd need about 5 hounds to knock over a samber but id be happy with one good roo dog on a fallow and i mean a good one but
