But the only time i have ever read about dogs taking sika deer is in J DARCYS book. Do you have any experiences of taking sika deer (and fallow deer... i like them fallow dead or alive) that you would care to share? RH Quote Link to post

Butler 396 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Share Posted July 31, 2008 Certain beasts can be a challenge thats for sure " Very large buck" but on the hole if the dog new his/her job ( pre ban) things should be over pretty quickly with very little fuss. The thing with the larger deer species is it's not over just cos the dog has made contact this is when good schooling and a natural talent for the job come into things. Quote Link to post
