Guest smashygadge Posted August 21, 2008 Report Share Posted August 21, 2008 hi all you must go for a coursing dog as he will stay a track dog will only give you one or two runs my little greyhound bitch 25tts will rabbit alnight and run some good hare pre ban no problem aslong as she has somthing in her sights id put her stamina against most dogs heart and drive aswell for me. WOULDNT HAVE THOUGHT SO MOST WHIPPET/GHD FAST ENOUGH TO RUN WI THE GREYHOUNDS OVER THE SPRINT AND HAVE ALOT MORE RUNS IN THEM Quote Link to post Share on other sites
Guest oldskool Posted August 21, 2008 Report Share Posted August 21, 2008 hi all you must go for a coursing dog as he will stay a track dog will only give you one or two runs My only gripe with most of the Irish park bred coursing dogs are that they are to big ie 90 - 100 lb for breeding lurchers, a good sound marathon track bred of sound breeding will do the job imo, ie ballyreagan bob was used to produce a few good lines of coursing lurcher im sure courfields Joe was bred down from this greyhound ? just curious why size would play a part in it, why would any greyhound be too big for breeding??
