whippeter94 0
What is a section two and three firearm ? Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
There are many different Sections concerning Firearms and they each concern a different Section of the Firearms Act(s). A S.1 Firearm is one with a rifled barrel and needs to be held on an FAC. A S.2 Firearm is one with a Smoothbore and has a barrel not less than 24" and is held on an SGC as long as it has no capacity for more than 3 shots, any more and it needs to go on an FAC as S.1. Those are the two main definitions you need to be concerned about. A S.3 is an Air Weapon which has a power of 12ft/lbs or less and is not a revolver. A S.5 Firearm is one which is subject to general prohibition. Such as Pistols and Semi Automatic rifles other than those chambered for .22 R/F. Regards SS Quote Link to post

Regards SS Sc 3 of the firearms act 1968 deals with Business and other transactions with firearms and ammunition. air weapons are mationed in Sc1(3B) exampting air weapons from the FAC requirement. the term 'air weapon' is not defined but the dangerious air weapons rules 1969 stated the legal limit powers for air guns Edited July 30, 2008 by JOE BLOCKY Quote Link to post
