mackeral on the fly!

right well basically i'm going mackerel fishing tomorrow i'm going to use feathers as usual but i have also have a few pike flies which look the same as a feathers i know that i wont catch as many on a fly but to me it seems fun. i haven't done alot of fly fishing so to me it will fun lol.

 

just wondering if anyone else has tried catching mackeral on a fly?

yep flys work great i usually just get a set of 6 feathers and cut one off and use that on the fly rod

I have had trout on mackerel feathers so I cant see why it wouldnt work the other way around

try a fly called a pink clouser................check www.ukswff.co.uk site for details. Good for bass as well.

Try going after pollack on the fly, a decent sized one will put up a terrific scrap, far better than any trout of an equivilent size. Had them upto 6lb and boy do you know about it

chess has the right idea, go after pollack they are great sport no matter how you go after them.

A 6lb pollack on a fly rod must of put up hell of a fight!
