WALKING THE DOGS

i was bored stuck in the house online on friday night so i decided to look on google earth for some big fields locally where i can WALK the dogs. i found a couple so loaded the car up and went for a drive yesterday morning looking for public foot paths i found a few but 1 really stood out it was a thin path along side a stream altogether i think we clocked up about 7 miles, seen a couple of young rabbits on the banks on the otherside but i was just admiring the nature. on the way back to the car seen a middle aged man messing round on a tractor so i plucked up the courage to ask him if he was a land owner and if he needed anyone to do the pest control..he then got on explaining that he was a land owner but onlyu had a small holding and he did the virmin himself with his 2 terriers.. so i was gutted and turned away and started to head back to the car after about 10 steps he shouts "why dont you try (so & so)"and gave me directions to this great big manor/posh house.. so i jumped in the car and sped off to this place. i arrived at the huge long drive way of the propperty and slowly driving down it with fields to my left and right something catches the corner of my eye i new it was either a large rabbit or a small hare so i stop the car and get out to investigate,to my amazement there was atleast 30 rabbits just sitting there in this field so filled with excitement and high hopes i jump in the car and carry on towards this house..when i got there i was met by an elderly gentleman..so i begin to explain a farmer had gave me directions and told me to pop along and ask if he needed anybody for the rabbits and so on......to my delight he said yes and asked me what i charged..which left me quite baffled(money for doing what i loved) so i told him i didnt want anything in return..anyways he took me for a walk round his land which is lifting with rabbits even though it was just after dinner and red hot,,the land is a 70 acre plot with 10 acres of woodland so i couldnt be happier..the fields are almost as flat as pancakes very little hills.

 

its amazing what bordem can lead to

 

ill be back up this weekend with the dogs and the lamp see what its like night timebut ive got very high hopes

been up for an hour today with my coursing grey and ex track bitch got 11 rabbits and a hare and just to confirm dogs were running loose not slipped

Nice one big fellah couple of photo's should shut the doubters up....amazing what you can pick up just by talking to folks good luck with you permission!

im back up on saturday morning with my old man with his 12 bores and a couple of my dogs

the old man is in to his pidgeon and squirrel shooting but ill try and coax him on to rabbits..and wont forget the digi cam
