LAND OF THE FREE ,if you do as your told!! thats any country though, isnt it? i dont know of any land where you're "free" unless its a place where absolutely no one lives ..... like Montana... lol more elk than people i hear! but yeah, its pretty bad for both sides. and like you pointed out, people believe those videos to be true and we'll all be doomed and somesuch. but damn, are we any better off with the other guy?? i like to think i'm nice to anyone who is nice to me, and i try to give strangers the benefit of the doubt..... funny little black guy drove his car down our old dead end logging road on 4th of July weekend... as my cousin and i were leaving to get a few things from the store we noticed this guy WALKING up the road (btw it was nearly 100 degrees that day) he waved to us, we stopped, said his car broke down and could he use the phone. of course! sent him to my house to sit in the AC while he waited for a ride. said he was driving down there to hide from a woman lol what ever.... his business not mine! there's some nice ones and then there's some not so nice ones. but what can you do? sulurian 3
We should all move to Montana!!! lol..I really loved the US and have friends for life there , i was up in illinoi and wisconson mainly.Absolutly beautiful and as I said wonderful people. But like I said I,ve never been insituations where there was so much mistrust between people of different colour.Blacks didn,t talk to white , whites didn,t speak to hispanics and so on. People have to remember that the US is the size of a continant with a population to match.Maybe the different states should go thier own way giving people the chance to live where the laws suit them? Florida doesnt have a food tax, but Alabama does and its killing the people. when people hit hard times they'll go out and shoot deer out of season.... now thats just wrong because we have enough money and food to go around!! sulurian 3
Your right, but if OUR goverments spent OUR taxes on US how could they afford thier large saleries and big buisness wouldn,t give them bribes, sorry I meant insentives to use OUR money to pay them. HALIBURTON.... spending OUR money on thing such as health care or flood relief ie New Orleans benifiting ordinary people ,well that would be stupid wouldn,t it.
BlueCoyote 0
honestly i havent been following the Haliburton news articles. the thing about new orleans though,, sad that it happened and the way it was dealt with but a lot of those people that stayed behind knew there was impending doom. and... AND it was predicted that this would happen. N.O. is below sea level and its all swamps. that makes as much sense as building a million dollar condo on the beach you knew gets slammed with hurricanes every season, or building a city right on the Mississippi, or for that matter, building any home in the plains states. theres a good reason why the native americans "camped" in those areas! there are mistakes... and then there are STUPID mistakes. think about the three little pigs and the material they built their houses out of. it isnt just a Disney cartoon lol but i dont want to sound like a cold insensitive bitch... but New Orleans was just insane. so many things went wrong with that city.... but it was a good example of the sort of people living there. the damned astrodome for example.. a "shelter"? no.. a mad house people seeking shelter were raped, murdered, mugged, you name it. and these people all live in the same city, all walked down the same streets every day.. what happened??.... my area got hit by five hurricanes in ONE SUMMER(i think.. i lost count)!! the only damage we suffered at my home was one felled tree and that was a water oak, and they're famous for heart rot.... it had nothing to hold it up... so when the ground was soaked it fell over...... nearly fell on my husbands car - with him in it - but thank God it was a Mustang and he knew how to drive it lol but New Orleans got that one big storm and the whole place was leveled..... and the people went nucking futs.. and then you had people "raising money" to donate to them.... a lot of it was a scam!! mattydski 560
Hi, just want to add some clarity to my second post. I was only interogated at immigration. I love the Midwest and the people. i have beeen several times, mainly in the winter, but once in the summer to the area. Montanna, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah. My favourite place is Jackson Hole. And if i had several million dollars, i would have the tiny semi-detached residence in Harrison Ford's garden..... Did the whole Yellowstone park in winter on a snowmoble thing.... awesome. I also have lot of friends is America, noteably some of the biggest potato growers in Idaho. You could not meet nicer people, and i was welcomed in to their homes and share their families lives when on business there. However- I have also been in a airport when the Airport Security found nail scissors in my tavelling companions hand luggage, during boarding his fourth flight that day. Edinburgh-Amsterdam-Minneapolis-Salt lake city.....Idaho Falls. My god what a fuss. 41 year old white Scottish business man, told to "Turn and face your weapon , Sir" The guy had his hand on a his gun as well.... If we had done that to a white 41 year old American businessman, we would have an international incident and several stealth bombers hovering over Downing Street. The point of the original post was to get people's view of potentially the next American President. (The most important man in the world) Sporting Shooter makes an interesting point. Voters perhaps bowing to peer pressure. I hope not.. I probably agree with Trappa, at the minute, i like him. Lets hope we have the true measure of the man. Interstingly enough Blue Coyote, my mother was on one of the last planes to Leave New Oleans. She absolutely loved the city, and would have returned at an instant. Blue Coyote, i'd be really interested in your opinion of George Bush JNR. He comes accross realy poor in any media in this country. Probably about as bad as our Current Prime Ministers press. Oh... whats his name again.....oh yeh.. Gordon Green..No.. Gordon Brown..Thats it.. Matt Edited July 27, 2008 by mattydski
