out for a walkabout

Recommended Posts

Took the two hounds out for there daily walk. It was nice & sunny, thus i kept the deerhound X on the lead most of the time, as he likes to run after anything that moves, regardless of how hot he is.

I came through a little woodland. And peered into a field. The grass was about 18" high. I noticed a few brown heads :D Flaming roe deer all over the place, looked like a row of fence posts :D

I got the bino's out to have a spy on them, one caught my eye. He looked huge through the bino's. Couldnt quite make out his headgear, but put it this way, he was a big lad. Perhaps its time to give my mate a bell and get out with the .243

Anyway. I carried on walking, got the pup on the lead. I couldnt get any photo's of the bambi, as my hands were full, keeping hold of the two dog's.

The bambi bolted out of my way. And i continued along my path. I let the deerhound have a bit of a run about to excersiee his leg's. Then i shown him were the trough was :D

call yourself a hunter instinct would have made me have a go for one im sorry

Well, i respect my dogs, and would not have run them on any quarry in the heat we had today.

So MY INSTINCT told me not to run anything, even the rabbits that i was supposed to be controlling. Farmer might not have been happy with me taking no rabbits today, but hey, my dogs are still fighting fit.
