Geoff.C 0
serious question my son was recognised as being colour blind a few years ago, hes only 11 now ,but i was wondering how does it affect you in adult life? Well he probably wouldn't get a job as a train driver, if he cannot distinguish red/green amber etc. I believe that colour blindness varies in what part of the spectrum you cannot see. I have a mate (over 60 now) who has a degree of this, he has managed to obtain a private pilot's license and even a night rating, as he can distinguish red and green. There are various colours he cannot see, and is barely able to wire a 3-pin plug without a bit of guidance. He has just had to adapt to the condition, he says his colour perception has not altered much all his life.

I'm colour blind and missed out on a career in the navy as an engineer 'cos of it. Good really as I'd have been sent to the Falklands war. Missed a couple of opportunities at work in the past but now the biggest ball-ache is not being able to spot/identify certain birds. Cheers, D.
swanseajack 227
1 in 4 men are colour blind, most are red and green deficient to some degree, according to the colour blind chart (colours in circles) I'm totally colour blind.. here's an example for ya, I cant see the bottom half of the welsh flag in some lights..
