samba 534
NOT REALLY CLUED UP ON FALCONARY BUT WOULD A SPARROW HAWK BE A IDEAL FIRST BIRD OR WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST THANKS Quote Link to post
scotlandforever 0
No it wouldn't mate there so small that weight control has to be absolute perfect so you need some experience with a larger bird, A ideal first bird would be a Harris Hawk. Jason Quote Link to post
Rentomski 0
No need to shout, we can hear you! Caps are regarded as shouting! Spars are not something a beginner should not go anywhere near; temperamental, difficult, highly stressed and need very accurate weight control. Please don't go there; they are smaller versions of Gos', but you have no leeway on the weight, 1/4 oz or less in the wrong direction and the bird is lost or in cold weather dead. Get yourself a mentor and I would seriously suggest that you start with a Redtail or Harris'. Edited July 25, 2008 by Rentomski Quote Link to post

Jason Thats the simple but only answer !! indeed a sparrow hawk would probably not be suitable even as a second bird. Quote Link to post
